Frequently Asked Questions

Can photos and images be engraved into a material using a fiber laser?

High-quality photos and images are regularly engraved into a range of materials through photo laser engraving.
The strength of an image/photo laser engraving is largely dependent on the quality of the source image, we therefore recommend high-resolution photos with a minimum of 600 DPI and higher.

What is the difference between a CO2 laser and a Fiber Laser?

The main difference is the type of materials each laser can process. Fiber lasers are most commonly used for metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, steel, titanium, firearms, and certain rocks. CO2 laser works better for other materials such as rubber, plastics, glass, and wood.

What is the cost to laser engrave something?

There are several things that determine cost. The most common factors are the size and amount of engravings requested. One-off item engraved would cost more per unit than several engraving of the same type. This is in part due to the time it takes to set up the machinery, prepare images for the machinery, the time the machine is running the laser, and the cost of items being engraved. Each project is assessed individually.
